Ingredients:
- For the Crust:
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

- 2 egg yolks

Instructions:
- Preheat your oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch pan.
- Prepare the Crust:
- In a medium bowl, combine 2 ½ cups of all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons of white sugar, and ½ teaspoon of salt.
- Cut in the shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the egg yolks and ½ cup of milk, stirring until the dough forms.
- Assemble the Bars:
- Roll out half of the dough on a lightly floured surface to fit the size of the prepared pan.
- Place the rolled-out dough in the bottom of the pan.
- Lightly brush the dough with a thin layer of egg white.
- Arrange the sliced apples evenly over the dough and sprinkle them with ¾ cup of white sugar and ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon.
- Roll out the remaining dough and place it on top of the apples.
- Brush the top dough layer with another thin layer of egg white.

- Prepare the Glaze:
- In a small bowl, beat together 1 ½ cups of confectioners’ sugar, a pinch of salt, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 3 tablespoons of milk until you have a smooth glaze.
