Easy salsa recipe

Ingredients:

  • 6 ripe tomatoes
  • 3 jalapeno peppers (caution: hot)
  • 1 medium-sized white onion
  • 1/2 of a medium red onion
  • About 1 cup of fresh cilantro leaves (adjust to taste)
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • Juice of 3 limes (include some pulp for extra flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt (additional to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Optional: Diced fruit for sweetness (e.g., pineapple, mango, peach)

Instructions:

  1. Begin by finely chopping the tomatoes, jalapeno peppers (remember to handle with care), white onion, red onion, cilantro, and garlic.
  2. Mix all the chopped ingredients together in a bowl, ensuring a well-combined blend.
  3. Sprinkle in the ground cumin, sea salt, and chili powder. Squeeze the juice of the limes over the mixture.
  4. If you prefer a smoother texture, transfer a portion of the mixture to a food processor and pulse until desired consistency is reached. Combine the processed portion back with the chunkier part.
  5. For an exciting twist, consider adding diced fruit like pineapple, mango, or peach to add a touch of sweetness and a burst of flavor.
  6. Taste the salsa and adjust the seasoning if needed. Feel free to add more sea salt for your preferred taste.
  7. Allow the flavors to meld by refrigerating the salsa for about 30 minutes before serving.
  8. Serve with tortilla chips, as a topping for tacos, grilled meats, or as a refreshing side to your favorite dishes.
