Ingredients:
- 2 large chicken breasts
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Flour, for dredging
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/2 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon chopped poultry herb mix (sage, thyme, rosemary)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions:
- Slice the chicken breasts in half lengthwise. Sprinkle both sides with garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then dredge in flour until fully coated.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Add the white wine and Dijon mustard to the skillet, stirring thoroughly. Allow the mixture to bubble and reduce for a few minutes.
- Stir in the cream and chopped herbs. Return the chicken to the skillet and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, reducing heat if necessary, until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
- Season with additional salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
Notes:
- Poultry herb mix can be found in the fresh herbs section of the grocery store, usually refrigerated.
- For a smoother sauce, finely chop the herbs.
